Design options

Flexible, economical and can be combined

To meet the specific requirements of different applications, Robotunits Belt Conveyors are available in a wide range of possible designs. Whether standardized or customized systems, we offer the right solution for every project.

Drive types

Belt conveyor drive type

Different areas of application require special drive types. Thus, the Robotunits Belt Conveyor offers a choice of front end drive, center drive or drum motor.

‌End drive with timing belt

The front end timing belt drive from our standard offers an economical solution for all applications. With the front end timing belt drive, the belt is driven by the motor via a timing belt. This allows more flexible positioning of the drive. Conveyed goods that protrude beyond the end of the belt conveyor can be transported without any problems, as the front end drive with timing belt does not protrude beyond the belt at any point.

‌Front end direct drive

The front end direct drive is the second varation of our most economical solutions. The motor is directly connected to the front end of the conveyor belt and can therefore transmit higher torque. There are no additional parts between the motor and the drive roller.

Center Drive

With the center drive, special features can be assigned to the belt conveyor. For example, the center drive allows a nose bar to be attached on both sides. In addition, the center drive is used to allow reversible travel. The position of the center drive can be freely selected depending on requirements.

Drum motor

The drum motor variation is mainly used in areas where space-saving conveyor technology is required. With the drum motor, the motor is located inside the drive roller. The drum motor can be provided with a diameter of 50mm (belt conveyor C5N/C8N).

Stands

Belt conveyor stand

The Robotunits Stands consist of: 40×40, 50×50 or 40×80 extrusions from the Robotunits Modular Automation System. Our stands are available as standard versions and in various special designs. The extrusion t-slots allow easy mounting of further stands and other additional elements, such as cameras and speed controllers. Instead of adjustable feet, it is also possible to fit our belt conveyors with swivel castors.

Standard stands

The standard stand is used for our belt conveyor versions 40, 50 and 80. The following extrusion sizes are used for these designs: 40×40, 50×50 and 40×80. By using the “Wide” type of stand design, a safe stand is ensured to avoid a unfavorable ratio between conveyor belt height and frame width.

Height adjustable stand

The use of a height-adjustable stand offers a number of advantages for your production. Thanks to the height adjustability, additional conveyors can be controlled at different levels. Furthermore, it ensures an ergonomic working height for the employees.

Custom-made stand‌

For more specialized conveyors, such as inclined conveyors, angled frame conveyors, Z-conveyors or inter-floor conveyors, we also offer custom-made stands. Thanks to our in-house design team, we can support you in conceptual design and layout.

Belt types

Belt types

With customized belt conveyors, belt selection is essential. Whether flat or inclined, smooth or adhesive, white or colored: with a selection of 700+ belt types, we can find the right belt for your application.

Incline transport

Inclined transport is possible from Robotunits with the use of adhesive belt types. If required, cleats can be welded onto the belt to support the transport of easily slipping parts or small parts.

Surface and color

Belt selection includes the color and surface material. A smooth, surface allows accumulation operation, while a belt with a lot of grip is used for inclined transport. In some cases, the color of the belt can also be important, e.g. if a camera or sensor needs to detect the material being conveyed. Robotunits can provide the right color of belt.

Industry-specific

Depending on the situation, special belts may be required. Are you transporting sensitive electronic devices? Then ESD-capable belts can be used. For certain applications, we also offer food-safe belts.

Nose bar

‌Belt conveyor nose bar

The nose bar is mainly used for transporting goods with a high center of gravity. Thanks to the tip of the nose bar, goods can be transferred almost directly to the next belt conveyor.

Application

The diameter of the Robotunits belt conveyor nose bar is 16mm and enables the transfer of easily tipped conveyed goods with a high center of gravity. This includes, for example, bottles and cans. The nose bar can be used to provide bridge transfers in order to convey even the smallest of products.

Examples

This visual representation of how the nose bar works shows how the gap between two conveyors is effortlessly bridged, allowing the bottles to be transferred smoothly to the next belt conveyor.

Z-inclined Belt Conveyor with cleats

With the help of cleats and side guides, warm injection molded parts are transported to higher transport levels. The parts are then transferred to another Belt Conveyor, offset by 90 degrees, and transported onwards. At both ends of this horizontal Belt Conveyor, boxes are placed to catch the transported goods. Once a box is filled, the direction of the belt is changed and it begins to fill the opposite box. Thus, a continuous removal of the parts from the injection molding machine is possible.

FAQ - Belt conveyor

Frequently asked questions about Robotunits Belt Conveyors

The most frequently asked questions and answers about Robotunits Belt Conveyors can be found here. If we have not answered your question in this FAQ, please do not hesitate to contact us personally and our experts will be happy to help you with your questions.

How does a belt conveyor work?

A motor turns the drive roller. This transfers the torque to the belt via tension. The belt tension and wrap angle are critical factors in power transmission.

How to maintain a belt conveyor?

Maintain the Robotunits Belt Conveyor by visually inspecting the timing belt, electrical installation and the belt for damages.
You should check the screw connections for tightness and the belt tracking.

What are the belt conveyor types and what are they used for?

There are many different types of belt conveyors. These differ, for example, in the design, belt types and extrusions. Generally, our Belt Conveyors can be used for individual products or bulk materials, although additional equipment may be required (side guides, angled sections, …).

Which motor is best suited for a belt conveyor?

We most commonly use three-phase motors and 24V motors, although it depends on the situation and the project. Our experts can help you most effectively through personal consultation.

How much does a Robotunits Belt Conveyor cost?

As the belt conveyor is one of the most affordable conveyors, Robotunits can offer customized belt conveyors starting from $ 1,000.
The exact price for your project, however, can only be calculated by one of our experts. Please contact us for an individual offer.

What should I do if I have special specifications or don't know what I need for my production?

Our team will be happy to assist you in finding the right specifications for your project. Regardless of whether you only have special specifications or want to customize a project from scratch.
